Chapter: 1

This made me teary slightly because I loved your first sequel. It had the right amount of everything in it, great job truly, I could sit and re-read your stories over and over again because they’re just that fantastic.

Chapter: 1

This is so sad yet oddly hopeful.

A lovely story, does make you wonder what would happen to famous rockstarts after the world ends.

I very much enjoyed reading this, and the one that came before it - you took a world that people were familiar with (walking dead) and threw in some Bennoda - well done!

Your writing is also great, descriptive and thoughtful. I want to read more of your stories.

Chapter: 1

I, of course, had to control myself long enough to go back and re-read (for like the hundredth time) "so you hit the lights..." before I read this. I wanted to savor the moment because I never thought you'd write anything else on this idea!

Every time I read the first one (and now this one, since I've read it three times already) I try so hard to put my finger on exactly what it is that makes me love it so much. It must be the style they are written in. It's almost like drabbles, where each word is so important since the point has to get across in 100 words or less. I love how you can allude to things without flat out saying them in both of these stories.

Like, I get that they have a sexual relationship now. You didn't have to get graphic to get that point across. And I can feel the depth that they care for each other and love each other, and it didn't take 60 chapters to get there (yeah, I'm making fun of myself.) I can feel the love and heartbreak, the misery and fatigue and desperation, and it's all in these compact little snapshots occurring over time. I just love it.

I adore that this is from Mike's POV when the first was from Chester's. I feel like Chester always held a torch for Mike and Mike always kept them from crossing that line, and even with everyone dead and gone, he still has trouble letting go of the past enough to embrace the present. Chester wanting to put down roots what poignant, and ultimately I think what helped Mike's mental state. The whole crisis of the end of the world is not for the mentally weak, and they both have their moments. If not for the other, they wouldn't still be there... and then to have the anger over still being alive, and the guilt over being together and (gasp) actually enjoying each other must be mentally exhausting.

I love their banter, and their need and dependence on each other. I can't even break down and say what I loved the most because there is a heart-shattering sentence in each moment you wrote. But I have to say I adored the proposal and the subsequent marriage - something that is symbolic and means absolutely nothing except to the two of them, and shows their utter devotion to each other even in the end of the world. I teared up as let go of their past to embrace each other completely. Gah. Just beautiful.

I could read this forever, but I love how you did it. Thank you for writing more, it's perfect. <3
