The first sign of autumn was appearing in the trees. The leaves already turning shades of red and gold and any other day he would have stopped to take in the beautiful scenery that adorned the area, but none of this was seen as he ran through the dense woods. The birds were chirping overhead and squirrels were rustling through the trees, probably collecting food for the upcoming winter, but all he could hear was his labored breathing, twigs and small branches that had fallen from the trees crunching under his feet and the fast patter of footsteps that were slowly gaining on him.
"There is no escape Michael," he heard clearly. He knew this was true but for the emcee's sake he had to try to find a way out. Still running, he turned his head momentarily to see if he could catch a glimpse of his predators. This was a mistake, for when his eyes were taken off the path, he tripped over a huge log. "Shit," he cursed a bit louder than he wanted to, his voice seeming to echo. Although he didn't fall, he had stumbled and it caused them to gain more on him. He tried to pick up his pace but it was of no use. A strong hand gripped his upper arm and Mike fell hard to the ground. Tears brimmed over the edge of his eyes and began to drop to the muddy earth below. He had tried to keep them at bay since his ordeal had started but it was of no use, he had been defeated.
"It's all over now Michael," they laughed out. "Where are your precious friends now?" He couldn't answer them. He couldn't say anything. It was like he had lost his voice. In fact, that was the last thing Mike heard before he blacked out completely.

"Man, it will be so good to get away for a while," Joe beamed. The DJ happily walked from Brad's porch over to where Dave was finishing loading his stuff in one of the rental cars. Of course Joe was happy. It was his idea to get away a while with his other five band mates, and he was the one who picked the location; Alabama. The entire band as a whole had been in the studio non stop recording their third album since Mike had gotten back from his Fort Minor tour. Everyone was exhausted to say the least, especially Mike, having gone from putting all his time and effort into his side project to putting all his effort and time into Linkin Park and the third album. Writing and recording this record seems to be more stressful than the previous two, and the band felt they owed it to their fans to make this album amazing since they had taken so much time off to enjoy other things individually. Joe had come up with the idea that they should take a week off to rejuvenate themselves before they were overworked so the quality of their music wasn't affected.
"Joe, tell me again why in the hell we are going all the way to Alabama just to go camping for a week?" Rob asked for the hundredth time since he got the phone call last week from his friend stating that's where he wanted to go.
The excited DJ didn't answer the drummer. Instead he clapped his hands and started singing, "Sweet Home Alabama." Brad chuckled a bit as he locked his house and walked over to Dave, handing him his last bag to put in the trunk.
"How long before Rob like kills Joe?" Brad asked as he watched Rob chase the Korean around the yard.
"I give it a couple more hours at most," Dave laughed.
"So, like what time did Mike say he was going to go pick up Chester?" Brad had stopped paying attention to Rob and Joe and started looking at the map he took from the car where Dave had tossed it.
"I think he said around 2," Dave replied. "That's about an hour and a half from now so I was thinking we would head on early, get a head start because chances are that Joe will drive Rob insane so we will most likely have to make a futile pit stop to the emergency room so Rob's foot can be removed from Joe's ass."
The two men laughed as they looked at the map. Rob had stopped chasing Joe and had breathlessly ventured over to where Brad and Dave were, wondering what the two men had been laughing at but deciding against asking them. Joe had collapsed on the ground, out of breath from being chased but still as happy as ever.
"You finally decide to give up against the almighty Hahn?" Dave joked. "Anyways I was just telling Brad I think the four of us will head on early. Mike has the other rental car so he and Chester can come on when they get ready. Sound good?"
Rob nodded as he leaned against the car. He watched as Dave pulled out his cell phone and walked away to call Mike. He only shifted his gaze away when he heard Brad talking.
"Try to enjoy yourself, I mean like, I know you don't like camping and the outdoors but you will be with your five best friends. Try to make the most of it." Brad said, being serious and trying to make Rob feel better about going.
"I just don't get why we have to go all the way across the U.S. to go camping. It makes no sense."
"Joe is a weird man when it comes to like picking out places to relax at, but the last vacation we went on together that he picked out was like a blast. I have to give him that even though we like had to take three planes and a boat to get there," Brad laughed as he patted his younger friend on the back. Rob smiled and nodded once more. Brad always knew what to say to make him relax.
"All set." Dave yelled out. "Everyone ready to go?"
"Yes," the three men said in unison and started piling into the car. Brad had made a dash for the front seat beside Dave who was driving, leaving Rob to sit by Joe in the back. Though Rob wasn't a bit pleased by this, he accepted it hoping that the DJ would calm down once on the road. It's not that Rob despised Joe, quite the opposite, he loved him like a brother, the same love he had for the other five band members, but sometimes Joe got under his skin because of his over-hyperactivity. This just happened to be one of those times. As Dave started the car and backed out of Brad's driveway, Rob sighed, having an unsettling feeling creep over him. He rolled down the window for fresh air and pushed the feeling aside, hoping that once they get to their destination and meet up with Mike and Chester that all will be well and they will have a good time.

(A/N) This is my first submission here. I have wrote non-fictional type stuff elsewhere and decided since I have read a ton of great stories here that inspired me, I would try my hand at fiction. Review please and tell me what you all think. :)
