The Mass Email

Oy! Here it is. Refreshed and new...whoopee. I did change a few things. Sorry about all this.

Hahahahaha, I totally just realized that whoever's reading this probably didn't even realize it was gone. So, if you're just joining, this story was up, but I deleted it to work on it some more...So yeah. :)

All His Glory

Chapter One

[Chester]

“Chester….come back to bed…” He heard Talinda whining in the background. He ignored her and continued to check through his email. Mike was supposed to send him some lyrics from the studio, but instead there was only a measly email from Brad, titled “Mass Email”. Curious, Chester opened it and began to read.

“Chester…what are you doing?” she whined again.

“Just give me a second, honey bear!” he yelled at her, scrolling down through the email, skimming. He knew if he stayed much longer, she’d get up and check on him. He also knew he did not want her to read the email.

“CHESTER!” she screamed, getting irritated. He immediately shut down his computer, going into the bedroom.

“What the hell?” she asked. He looked at her—he had forgotten. Tonight was their special night: no kids. She was lying on the bed in an erotic way, dressed in nothing but a red lacy bra and skimpy underwear. He blushed and ran over to her, taking her in his arms.

[Mike]

Mike was on his way home from an intense session at the studio when he got a call from Chester.

“Chester, I’m working on the lyrics, give me time!” he said, irritated. He pulled into his driveway.

“No, not that. Check your email. Pronto.” He was panting, and it was obvious he was freaking out. Mike heard sounds on the other end, then a click.

The emcee unlocked the door to his apartment and ran inside, immediately throwing his bag and keys on the floor and turning on the computer in his office. He finally got connected and checked his email.

Anna came into the office, holding Otis. “Hi, honey.”

Distracted, he waved his hand at her and continued looking at the screen.

“Otis was a big boy today. He sat up all by himself.”

“Good for you, Otis,” he mumbled, opening Brad’s email. He heard Anna sigh and walk out the door. He continued to read the email and grabbed his phone to text Joe.

[Joe]

“Alright, Mr. Hahn, your divorce is set. Thanks for coming in,” said the divorce attorney Joe was meeting with. He shook hands with the attorney and swiftly walked out the door. He managed to get to his car before the tears came. Failure..I’m a failure…My marriage failed and I’m a worthless failure… He went to call Rob to vent when he got a text from Mike:

“Check email ASAP. It’s Brad”

Worried, Joe got to his car and, in the safety of his vehicle, checked his email on his iPhone. There, indeed, was a message from Brad. He read through it.

“What the…” The DJ called Rob to tell him.

“Joe! Hey man, how’d the meeting go with the attorney?”

“ROB! You at Dave’s?” he said, ignoring Rob’s question.

“Yes…why—”

“Brad sent us all an email and you need to read it right now! I’m on my way!” He hung up and dodged traffic, trying to get to Dave’s house as soon as possible.

[Rob and Phoenix]

Since Rob’s last relationship had been over, he’d been spending a lot of time at Dave’s house. That particular night, Lindsey had made them jalapeño nachos and let them have a Halo tournament in Dave’s “man room”. They were in the middle of an intense round when Joe called.

“Joe! Hey man, how’d the meeting go with the attorney?”

“ROB! You at Dave’s?” he said, ignoring Rob’s question.

“Yes…why—”

“Brad sent us all an email and you need to read it right now! I’m on my way!” Click. He told Dave, who reluctantly paused their game, and they both went over to Dave’s computer to check their email.

Sure enough, Brad had emailed all of them about forty minutes before Joe called. Dave opened the email just as Joe raced into the room, knocking over a few things and, stepping on a controller, accidentally unpaused the game.

“Dude!” Dave ran over and finished the round, winning because of an absent Rob. “Ha ha! Suck on it, Bourdy!”

Rob didn’t hear. “Dave…come look…”

Confused as to why Rob wasn’t taunting back, Dave went and read over Rob’s shoulder. “Holy shit…”

To My Bandmates—

I don’t really know what to say. I don’t think you guys really know me as well as you think you do. The thing is, a few years ago, everything changed. I basically crumbled, hit rock bottom. I didn’t know what was going on. Elisa noticed something, and made me talk to a counselor.

I learned over a few months of counseling that I’m transgendered. Which basically means that I want to be a woman. Ever since I was little, I thought I was just a ladies’ man. I don’t want to bore you all with details…let’s just say a lot of things changed in my life, and I need to act on those changes.

I talked with a doctor about gender-reassignment surgery. It’s actually scheduled, this year on my birthday. I’m very excited about it…

I know that some of you will look down upon me, and some of you will judge me in a way that I had no desire to be judged. If you guys never want to talk to me again, I understand…I wouldn’t want to talk to me either. But I also know that if I lose you guys, there won’t be any point in the surgery. I cannot live without you guys.

BBB

Joe was the first to speak. “So…umm…Mike texted me…have you guys heard from Chaz?”

“Nah,” Dave answered. Rob was staring at the screen, re-reading everything.

Rob got out his phone to text Chester. A few seconds later, he replied, “Yeah, be over there in a sec. Dave’s?” Rob texted back, “Yeah, tell Mike to come over too”.

Despite it being ten o’clock, Chester dropped everything, having to explain to Talinda that it was a “band emergency”. He texted Mike and drove over to Dave’s.

Chester arrived before Mike, so he ran into Dave’s “man room”, greeting Lindsey on the way.

“Where’s Mike?” Rob asked, stuffing some Oreos in his mouth.

“Dude, how are you eating?” Dave stared at the drummer like he was insane.

“I’m hungry,” he replied with his mouth full. “Where’s Mike?”

Chester shrugged. They all gathered around the computer, reading it again and again.

“Do you think it’s a prank?” Joe asked.

“Nah, I don’t think Brad would think this was funny…” Chester said, rubbing the back of his neck.

Rob yawned. “Then it’s true…” He downed some milk. “What are we going to do?”

“I don’t know, but we need to talk to him… Where the fuck is Mike? Why am I the only one freaking out?!” Dave asked, reaching for his phone and texting Mike.

“Dude, chill,” Joe said, patting the frantic bass player on the back.

Minutes passed, still no word from Mike. At a little after ten, they tried calling Brad. He didn’t answer, so, worried, they headed over to his place without Mike.

Lalala. Lots have changed......Ugh, I'll probably regret this soon.
